Christmas

For many people Christmas begins with a visit to Yew Tree. At the end of November and throughout December, our sales of real Christmas trees are in full flow. We have a huge selection from 3ft to 18ft ready cut or pot grown. We grow Norway Spruce – the traditional Christmas tree with the evocative Christmas scent – on our own plantation and cut every day, so our trees are fresh, less prone to needle drop and we never run out. You can even come and dig your own Christmas tree and for many families this has become a firm Christmas tradition.

Our most popular tree now is the Nordman. It is soft to touch, has a slight bluish tinge but best of all it sheds very few needles. Again these are ready cut or pot grown and come in all sizes from 3ft to 15ft.

Also available if you fancy something different are omorika, blue spruce, noble fir and lodge pole pines plus, of course, loose holly, mistletoe and noble fir boughs for decorating the house and wreaths for the front door.

All our trees are netted after selection for easy transport home and we have acres of free parking. Once you have chosen your tree and living foliage, indulge yourself in our Christmas grotto which is a treasure trove of decorations, gifts and novelties.

We have eight themed trees this year including Snow White, Traditional Red and Gold, Sparkling Silver and a Scandanavian inspired red and white theme. At every step there are twinkling reindeer, village scenes, miniature lit Christmas trees, candles, tinsel and a huge range of indoor and outdoor lights including lots of new LED lights. To compliment our massive selection of living trees, we also have a lovely selection of artificial trees, wreaths and garlands.

To brighten winter days there are lots of houseplants and planted flowering bulbs. We have sturdy English-grown poinsettias in red, white, pink and marble.

These will not collapse as soon as you get them home as many European grown plants will. They have been grown over a longer period and in cooler conditions to produce a stronger plant. We also have Christmas cacti, cyclamen and orchids and a stunning range of pots to make a complete gift.

Naturally, throughout the garden centre, there are many ideas for great gifts for gardeners and non gardeners alike. There are bird feeders and bird food, bird tables and bird baths, tools, childrens tools, gloves, books, all kinds of plants, chutneys and jams and much more.

Do come and visit us over the Christmas period. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
